Chieftain — 02 November 2009

We had our first winter offshore trip last Thursday and all our expectations were surpassed, the fishing was exceptional. We headed out from Whitby and were fishing between 40 and 50 miles to the north and east. The fishing was so good that it only took two wrecks to keep is busy for the whole day, the first wreck created or only problem of the day fishing so well that breakfast was delayed two hours. The fish were coming thick and fast with some very nice winter cod, ling and the odd pollack.

Almost all the fish were in double figures and two three and even four at a time was the the theme of the day.

After a hearty Chieftain Breakfast which everyone was ready for and which despite the delay Joyce had kept up to the usual high standard we moved on to the next wreck, this fished equally as well and kept us occupied for the rest of the daylight hours.

These 24 hour trips will be available for the rest of the year Friday being one of the better days to go, they mean you have chance to get your head down whilst we are steaming to the wreck sites you get the chance to fish the maximum daylight hours and we feed you as well.

If you don’t see a trip on the website give us a call and we will try and fit one in, ideally we will sail with a minimum of 8 anglers but have no problem in smaller numbers to make up a party for a trip or to top up a trip.

We are planning on these offshore trips right through till the end of the year as well as 10 and 12 hour trips so give us a call.

We have had a problem with the camera and have not been able to retrieve all the pictures yet but as soon as we do we will post them on the site.
