Headline Sea Urchin Videos — 06 May 2010

Well what a day we had on Wednesday the weather was perfect and as I had not been out since last Thursday I had no real idea what the water clarity would be like we set off to the east with wrecking in mind all day with some regulars and two hire rods who had never been to sea before, first drop we were into a few cod but with a fast drift I hoped the fishing would speed up as the tide eased, the next wreck fished OK again slow now with around 10 cod on board some 9lb ers and most around 4/7lb I decided to try some wrecks closer to home and what a suprise more fish infact the closer we came to land the more fish we found on a few occasions every rod was in every drift brilliant stuff with Jody landing a fine pollock see picture but Steve had the best day in the end with a full box of cod on his own well done mate, this was fishing at its best after the recent hard and long steam fishing days we had been used to during the spring festival at last I am sure after yesterdays results the cod are here in numbers I have noticed the feed marks growing over the last few trips and the cod have followed them in,  interestingly I never went further than 6mls from shore all day hopefully this week ends weather will not spoil things for the coming weeks
you can view the video of the day from this link 4th May.flv or my web site

  1. Great video Mick. Nice to see a few fish coming up at last.

  2. Wow I’m famous! It’s great to see how good the fishing was that day.
