SEA URCHIN II 2009 round up

During last year the new sea urchin II not only lived up to but surpassed all my expectations the extra deck space was heaven and its heavy displacement hull proved extremely stable in all conditions I still have one or two alterations to make outlined below

Uptide boat fishing at anchor (uptiding) is one of the most productive and enjoyable methods of fishing for Cod and numerous other species like ling, conger, bass, tope and rays. 2010 festival dates released

We now have the dates for the WCSA Fishing Festivals 2010
They are as follows:
Winter Uptiding Competition 2009

30th November 2009 to the 6th December 2009 – £1000.00 for the single heaviest Cod, and £100.00 for the heaviest fish of any other species.

WCSA Fishing Festivals 2010

Spring Festival – 3rd. to 18th. April.
Summer festival – 19th. June to 11th. July.
Late summer festival – 11th. September. to 26th. September.

Here you will find a host of information on all the association boats who work from this lovely old fishing port on the North Yorkshire coast

Female daily winner

Congratulations to Alison gibbson who was Tuesdays winner in the 2009 Whitby charter skippers association late summer festival,
Alison who was fishing off the sea urchin 2 landed a cracking ling weighing in at 16lb 1.5oz  and over 2lbs heavier than the 2nd place fish who was also a female angler
Alison showed the all male anglers how it’s done over the wrecks and landed herself £50 into the bargain well done again Alison.
also during Wednesdays festival and fishing off the sea urchin 2 Mick spragg landed 3rd place with another ling of 16lb 13.5oz this fish came off …

Well this week has been a good week all in all with plenty of cod showing on certain wrecks and also a few good days fishing on the ground, the water was beginning to bloom up again which made for hard work inshore, plenty of marks but not easy to catch, had a good day on Friday  when Drifield angler Howard gave us all a lesson on how to catch fish,  he was taking fish on shad/bait/jigger you name it he could not fail just makes you realise that even when …

SEA URCHIN II arrives in whitby

 
 
At last the new boat has arrived in Whitby and if all goes to plan will be up and running for our spring festival, the new and much bigger sea urchin will be licensed for 12 anglers unlike the old boat which could only accommodate 5 anglers which in turn now means have plenty of space available on all festivals during 2009, visit myupdated webb site for more info from this link

Here is a sneak preview of Mick Leonards new boat that’s hopefully replacing the well loved Sea urchin, the deal has been done now just need to get her from south wales to Whitby then get the relevant code of practices applied and were fishing! 
 Mick says the new boat has an imense deck space for you anglers, at 18ft  x  11ft   you could nearly drop the sea urchin on the back!
