The spring festival is almost upon us starting next week on Saturday 3rd April and concludes on Sunday 18th April

With a one thousand pounds prize offered to the winner who catches the heaviest fish during the competition, anglers can enter on the day with the wcsa skipper they are fishing with on any day, also anglers can enter as many times as they wish on any wcsa boat throughout the competition but only one entry per day, the entry cost for the spring festival is (£30 per boat entry) so anglers usually divide the £30 equally between interested parties on the day, there is also daily prizes which are fished for every day independent of the top prize,

the festival offers great value for the few pounds it costs to enter,

boats leave the harbour no earlier than 7am and must be back in by 5pm the fish are weighed at the top of the church street pontoon just next to the fleece pub daily winners are paid out there and then with the heaviest recorded  photographed and entered for the main prize of £1000 which is presented in cash to the winner in the following week or so
