Sea Otter 2 — 19 January 2010

I Had a guy on the phone on Sunday who said the fishing in humber was poor at the moment so he wanted to book an uptiding day out of Whitby. I told him we were going on Monday, and that we had had roughly 30 codlings or so uptiding on the Sunday down off Robin Hoods Bay.

So with fingers crossed we set off on the Monday morning, the forcast was good with just a light breeze this guy from hull said he had 50 fresh small black lugworm, my thought was that this guy is going to hammer us as fresh worm has been fishing really well of late, and I was right.

The lad managed 15 codling the best going 6lb. The other lads did ok with fish being taken on frozen black and squid. The squid baits should have fished a lot better, and just before we came in it started to take few more fish.

All in all it was a really nice day, I think all the lads enjoyed themselves as the weather was great compared to what we have experienced throughout the last month.

Looking back towards robinhoods bay just before we went home.
