Whitby Uptiding Festival Presentation 2009

Christmas came early this year for Rob Wadsworth the happy recipient of

£1000 in cash for his first place in this years uptide festival with a cod of 9lb

6.5oz fishing off Rich Wards shytorque also in attendance was local angler

Karl Reid receiving a cheque of £200 for his third place cod of 9lb 3.5oz

fishing off sea urchin II and I was there to accept Russel Keymers cheque of

£100 for heaviest other species also fishing off sea urchin II

Weather delays uptide festival

Today’s weather has delayed the start of the festival for many anglers who were looking forward to the first day of the uptide competition, and with a similar forecast for day two it could be  much later in the week before it gets underway, I recomend anglers who have days booked this week should keep a close look on the forecast and  check with there skippers for any updates and news they may have Mick Leonard.

Whitby Winter Uptiding Festival 2009

WCSA Press Release – Please Feel Free To Place This On Your Own Websites.
After the sucess of last years winter uptiding festival, the Whitby Charter Skippers Association will be running another event this year during late November and early December. This years week long uptiding festival will run from 30th November to 6th December. Glenn Stocks and Stagecoach Supertram from Sheffield will again sponsor the event and the prizes will be £1000 for the heaviest single cod, £300 for second heaviest cod and £200 for 3rd heaviest cod. 2010 festival dates released

We now have the dates for the WCSA Fishing Festivals 2010
They are as follows:
Winter Uptiding Competition 2009

30th November 2009 to the 6th December 2009 – £1000.00 for the single heaviest Cod, and £100.00 for the heaviest fish of any other species.

WCSA Fishing Festivals 2010

Spring Festival – 3rd. to 18th. April.
Summer festival – 19th. June to 11th. July.
Late summer festival – 11th. September. to 26th. September.

Female daily winner

Congratulations to Alison gibbson who was Tuesdays winner in the 2009 Whitby charter skippers association late summer festival,
Alison who was fishing off the sea urchin 2 landed a cracking ling weighing in at 16lb 1.5oz  and over 2lbs heavier than the 2nd place fish who was also a female angler
Alison showed the all male anglers how it’s done over the wrecks and landed herself £50 into the bargain well done again Alison.
also during Wednesdays festival and fishing off the sea urchin 2 Mick spragg landed 3rd place with another ling of 16lb 13.5oz this fish came off …
