Today’s weather has delayed the start of the festival for many anglers who were looking forward to the first day of the uptide competition, and with a similar forecast for day two it could be much later in the week before it gets underway, I recomend anglers who have days booked this week should keep a close look on the forecast and check with there skippers for any updates and news they may have Mick Leonard.

Last years winter festival was …

On the first day of the 2008 festival the Whitby charter boats sailed out to a stunning sunrise in the eastern skies and the fishing that followed was very good indeed. Day 1 saw a mass of fish taken from the inshore grounds with the best going to Simon West …

We have not fished this festival before and fishing this close in, within a mile of the shore will be a new experience for us but we think the bigger boat will provide a more stable platform to fish from and certainly more space. There is a £1000 prize for the biggest cod caught during the week and also prizes for the second and third …
